Corpening Memorial YMCA to launch diabetes prevention program in McDowell County

From the McDowell News:

The Corpening Memorial YMCA was recently awarded more than $225,000 in grant money to help address the serious health problem of diabetes in McDowell.

The local YMCA got grants of $175,799 from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust and $50,000 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to bring the Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program to McDowell County and help reduce the burden of chronic disease in the community.
