CPP announces new public records training: NONPROFIT DISCLOSURES

Via Carolina Public Press:

Carolina Public Press, Western North Carolina’s only nonprofit online news service devoted to unbiased, in-depth and investigative reporting and educational opportunities to journalists, students and others, announces its third year of trainings about understanding state and federal public records laws.

NONPROFIT DISCLOSURES, a new training program from Carolina Public Press, will focus specifically on the state’s large and influential nonprofit sector — including understanding what records and information nonprofit organizations must disclose and make public, according to local, state and federal laws and standards.

The worshop will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at the conference room at The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina in Asheville. Attendees may choose from morning or afternoon sessions (trainings will include the same information). The first will be held 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The second will be held from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
