David Gantt endorses Ron Moore for DA

Here’s the message from Democratic Buncombe County Board of Commissioners Chair David Gantt endorsing Ron Moore for district attorney. Moore is facing a Democratic primary challenge from Todd Williams.

Via Gantt’s email newsletter:

I am endorsing Ron Moore for re-election to the Buncombe County District Attorney (DA) office today.  Ron has been on the cutting edge of victim rights and positive offender programming during his tenure as DA.  He has either founded or supported

Drug Treatment Court
District Night Court
Nuisance Court
Sexual Assault Response Team
Information sharing programs.

Ron is currently working toward a local solution to the backlogged forensic testing in Raleigh by endorsing these examinations by local institutions that can produce results much faster and fairer than the current system.  He was the first NC DA to voluntarily become Board Certified in the State Criminal Law specialty.  I feel Ron has been an effective and positive leader during his terms in office and deserve another 4 years to continue his good work.  I urge all voters in the May 6 Democratic Party primary to support Ron Moore.
