Diamond Brand announces running, women’s hiking groups and Walks With Gary

Diamond Brand has put together a full slate of fitness group activities for outdoor lovers this month. In addition, Diamond Brand will continue its new groups incentive program to motivate Western North Carolinians to make some positive changes in 2012, through in-store and online discounts. With the help of the different groups that Diamond Brand offers, outdoor lovers can make 2012 their healthiest year yet! Join one of Diamond Brands groups and be added to their online network to save 20% off storewide at any time! Diamond Brand offers groups for the following areas of interest.

– Diamond Brand Running Group: Meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. Distances are available for almost any runner ability. For details, contact Meredith at mmcbride@diamondbrand.com.

– Women’s Hiking Group: Meets the third Saturday of every month around 9 or 10 a.m. and typically hikes about 5 to 7 miles. For details, contact Amy at awilliams@diamondbrand.com.

– Walks with Gary: Gary offers several walks and hikes each month that range from 2 to 4 miles in length. For More info or to sign up, contact Gary at geblen@diamondbrand.com.

– Throughout the year, Diamond Brand also offers Training Groups for 10K and 5K races, Half Marathons, and even the Ramble Run 12K. For more information on joining a Training Group, contact Sarah Merrell at smerrell@diamondbrand.com.

All groups are free and open to the public. In order to receive the Group Discount, just attend the group and the group leader will give you details on how to join the online network. Saturday, March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day!
Get some girl time and enjoy the outdoors with the Diamond Brand Women’s Hiking Group! Hikes are the 3rd Saturday of every month and are led by experienced hiker and staff member, Amy Williams. The March hike location is TBD. Depending on which is mostconvenient, participants can choose to meet at Diamond Brand Outdoors at 9:00 am or at the trailhead at 10:00 am. Tuesday, March 20th at 5 p.m. – Bearwallow Hike
We will meet and Diamond Brand and then drive to the trail head about ten miles away. Thanks to Daylight Savings Time we’ll have plenty of light for the one mile hike to the top of Bearwallow and back. The view from the top of Bearwallow can be breathtaking so we’ll hope for good weather. In the event of rain, this hike will be cancelled.
