Donation items needed for Swannanoa Valley Museum rummage sale, Aug. 1

The Swannanoa Valley Museum will host its annual rummage sale on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon. While that date is still a while away, the nonprofit asks residents, in the meantime, to collect any gently-used household goods, kitchen items, collectibles, books, toys or furniture to donate for the sale. If there’s something you’d like to donate, call Yolanda Smith at 669-1679.

From Swannanoa Valley Museum:

The Swannanoa Valley Museum requests donations for its annual rummage sale scheduled for Saturday, August 1st from 8:00 am to noon. The event will take place under a large red and white striped tent in the parking lot on the corner of Padgettown Road and Old U.S. Highway 70 East. Organized by museum treasurer, Yolanda Smith, the fiscal year-end sale benefits the nonprofit museum in downtown Black Mountain, which serves as Buncombe County’s primary museum of local history. Smith collects rummage sale items year-round, but more are needed. Donations of gently-used household goods, kitchen items, collectibles, books, children’s toys, and furniture are greatly appreciated. The museum is unable to accept donations of clothing or electronics. Swannanoa Christian Ministry and other local charities will accept those items. Donors will receive a tax receipt for their contribution. Those interested in donating should contact Smith directly at (828) 669-1679 to schedule a time to pick up donated goods. Volunteers will be available to take large and heavy items. Please do not bring donations to the museum. All are welcome to shop for treasures at this year’s rummage sale in support of the museum.
