East Burke Band invited to France for D-Day celebration is taking donations

From Hickory Daily Record:

It’s not every day that a Burke County band gets a formal invitation from the mayor of Caen, France, the Department of Defense and an international music company to take part in remembering a bloody battle from 70 years ago.
But next year, East Burke High School band director Jonathan Berry will pack up his band and all of its instruments, uniforms and chaperons and head to France to represent North Carolina in D-Day ceremonies.
