Festival for Families at Dancing Bear Toys

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina – September 21 2013 – Dancing Bear Toys announces the first annual Fun Fest, a free outdoor festival for kids and families. The festival will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 11 am-3 pm in the parking lot of Dancing Bear Toys’ new location at 518 Kenilworth Road.

Fun Fest will showcase sixteen kid-friendly businesses and organizations from the Asheville community. Each business will offer a free activity for kids at their booth. Activities include disc golf, face-painting, crafts, giant games, and a Lego table.

“We’re excited that so many people from the community wanted to participate,” said owner Sarah Evers. “Our new property allows great opportunities for special events.”

Dancing Bear Toys will welcome back rising 8th grader Josh Hainsel of Hendersonville to demonstrate his sport stacking skills. Hainsel was recently named Overall World Champion at the 2013 Sport Stacking World Championship.

Liberty Bikes will sponsor a bike rodeo and safety check. Children can borrow a bike or bring their own.

Macaroni Kid will hold a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer bake sale in honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds will be matched by corporate sponsors and donated to pediatric cancer research.

Fun Fest will host the Lowdown food truck and Ultimate Ice Cream.

Other participants include Buckies, On the Side Games, Hands On! Children’s Museum, Asheville Scrabble Club, Bricks 4 Kids, Annie Wolfe, Kenilworth Residents Association, Black Dome, Stroller Strides, and Brother Wolf.

Dancing Bear Toys is a family-owned toy store with locations in Asheville and Hendersonville.
