FlowArts Society hosts waffle brunch, cook-off and potluck

“The Waffle-Off Championship is considered the most important event on Earth,” writes the Blueridge-Asheville Movement & FlowArts Society.

The ultimate goal of the event — a waffle brunch, potluck and cook-off — is “to answer the most important question of all time: Who makes the best waffles in the universe?!”

The BAMFS is dedicated to supporting the flow-arts, an umbrella term for a style of dance and movement that involves object manipulation — hula-hooping, poi, acroyoga and more.

To aid this culinary contest, the community comes together to taste and vote on the waffles. Side items such as fruit salad, bacon and mimosas are provided by the attendees to share with one another.

This year all proceeds go to BAMFS – The Blueridge-Asheville Movement & FlowArts Society.

About BAMFS: The Blueridge-Asheville Movement & Flow Arts Society (BAMFS) is an organization dedicated to fostering & supporting the FlowArts community by securing free practice-space & opportunities for flow-artists.

“FlowArts” is an umbrella-term to describe a style of dance & movement that features object manipulation. The object itself isn’t important; it may be a plastic hula-hoop, fire-poi, or a human being. (See AcroYoga) While many Flow Artists may also be performers, the primary focus is to achieve a meditative mental state called “flow” rather than entertain.
