Former Xpress, WNC Magazine ad man James Fisher moves to the Asheville Citizen-Times

Earlier today, July 26, former Mountain Xpress ad man James Fisher announced via Twitter and Facebook that he’s been hired by the Asheville Citizen-Times, a Gannett publication:

I’m advertising manager at new [C-Times] weekly, Asheville Scene! Start next week, can’t wait!

.

Fisher, who most recently worked for WNC Magazine, is the second longtime Xpress staffer to get hired by the Citizen-Times. A few weeks ago, award-winning Xpress writer Mackensy Lunsford announced she’ll be working on the C-T‘s newest venture, the Asheville Scene. Here’s what local blogger Ashvegas/Jason Sandford had to say:

With the hiring of former Verve editor Jess McCuan and Mountain Xpress food writer Mackensy Lunsford, the Asheville Citizen-Times is putting together a team that will produce a new entertainment publication. The publication will replace the current Take5, a tab that is inserted into the newspaper every Friday and distributed as a standalone product in boxes on downtown streets.
