Free community cat spay/neuter and rabies project is on the way

Here’s the press release from Buncombe County announcing a free community cat spay/neuter and rabies project:

WHEN: Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: 200 College Street, First Floor Conference Room, downtown Asheville

WHY: To announce Humane Alliance of WNC’s receipt of a PetSmart Grant enabling a FREE community cat spay/neuter and rabies vaccine program to help control the community cat population in Buncombe County. There are approximately 40,000 cats in our County and about 28,000 of these are being feed and cared for by communities. These cats can be spayed or neutered for free through this program. Come hear the details and help spread the word about this positive public health program.
