Garden & Gun sends out call for entries for Made in the South Awards

Garden & Gun magazine calls for entries for the third annual Made in the South Awards. From the release:

“The Made in the South Awards celebrate the rich cultural tradition of Southern craft, design and ingenuity.

Each fall, G&G editors gather a who’s who lineup of guest judges to pore through the hundreds of entries of Southern-made products. The awards cover four categories: Food, Outdoors, Style & Design, and Home.

Why enter:

Garden & Gun’s panel of experts will judge and select one winning entry and several honorable mentions in each category for publication in the December 2012/January 2013 issue of the magazine. Their stories will debut in our Made in the South Awards feature. Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize along with a chance to be a part of the Made in the South Awards online boutique at gardenandgun.com. Part of the celebration of the Made in the South Awards is how it has helped businesses/artisans catapult to the next level. Many of our past winners have seen huge changes as a result of the national coverage, often allowing them to quit their jobs and pursue their passions full-time.

What we Want: Any Southern artisan or business with a product that will be available through January 2013. Products must be made in the South and fall under one of the following categories: food, outdoors, style and design, or home.

How to Apply: Entries will be accepted June 1, 2012, through August 1, 2012. Entry forms, category descriptions, and further details can be found at gardenandgun.com/madeinthesouth. First round judging will be based solely on photos and entry forms. Please do not send us your product or enter a product that has already been featured in the magazine.
