Get in Gear Fest invites Ashevilleans to consider the economic impact of their outdoor gear buying habits while enjoying a day of product demos, races, beer and other light-hearted activities. Sponsored by a host of Western North Carolina gear builders and other supporters, the free event will be held at the River Arts District’s RiverLink Park (144 Riverside Drive) on Saturday, March 21, from 12-4 p.m.

“‘Buy local’ isn’t just about your groceries — it’s about your gear and beer too!” reads the event page. “Learn from the pros while you try out locally made outdoor gear and ring in the first day of spring with a local brew, gear clinics, raffles, one-of-a-kind races and events… It’s time to get in gear!”
