Here is the full release from the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity:

On Friday, May 29th, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity will joyfully celebrate with homeowners, sponsors and Habitat supporters and dedicate three new Habitat homes in its Hudson Hills neighborhood in West Asheville.

When: 11:30am on Friday, May 29th

What: Let Us Gather, a dedication of three new Habitat houses. Lunch will be provided at 11:30am, with a short program to follow. The dedicated houses (listed below) will then be open for touring.
Interfaith House #16, the Guzman family
Christmas Jam House, the Garcia-Sanchez family
House built in Honor of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church by Steve & Frosene Zeis, the Beamon family

Where: Habitat’s Hudson Hills neighborhood (Use 197 Johnston Blvd. for GPS)

Why: Habitat is a partnership between homeowners, community volunteers and sponsors. It’s important to celebrate what happens when people work together towards the common vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The families contribute at least 200 hours of “sweat equity” (volunteer work) and then repay a 30-year, interest free mortgage to Habitat. Habitat uses mortgage income to build more houses. Sponsors provided the funding needed to purchase and develop land and buy construction materials. Volunteers provide 1,650 hours of free labor on each Habitat house, keeping costs down and helping to make Habitat homeownership affordable. Come see the results of community partnership and the role that Habitat plays in addressing the affordable housing crisis in Asheville.
