Based on “the musicy words and wordy music of Woody Guthrie,” “Hard Travelin’ with Woody” — written and performed by Randy Noojin — was produced in the 2011 New York Fringe Festival.
According to press for the show, “At a Depression-era union meeting, Woody plays for striking mine workers who are unexpectedly on the verge of breaking the strike and caving to vigilante violence. Based on Guthrie’s vast writings, Noojin creates an intimate visit with the spirit of Woody.”
The show runs Wednesday-Sunday, July 18-22. 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets run $10-$18.
