HART’s 2014 SEASON AUDITIONS and General Call for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

This year HART is trying something new. The theater is giving actors a chance to audition for principal roles in HART’s entire season at one time. The idea is to give actors interested in being considered for leading roles an early shot at casting and give directors more time to assemble a cast. . This is the only scheduled audition for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, the first show on the season, which will be casting all roles, so anyone interested in being a part of that show in roles large and small should try to attend one of the two nights or contact the director, Wanda Taylor to make special arrangements for another time.

For all of the other productions in the HART Season, Directors will be in attendance to see actors interested in being considered for principal roles. Following these auditions directors will have the discretion of casting principal roles or waiting until their production’s general audition. Each show still has its own audition date scheduled about two months from its opening. All chorus and dance company casting will be done at these later audition dates and each director may choose to wait until that date to cast all roles but they may offer roles at any time after the February auditions.

Actors with professional credits and training may audition as professionals, with a prepared audition piece, head shot and professional resume. These actors will be seen by all directors first beginning at 6pm on February 2 and 3. These auditions will be closed to the public.

Following the professional auditions beginning at 7pm community theater actors will be given a chance to cold read from the scripts of each show they are interested in being considered for. These auditions will be conducted in different parts of the building for each show. Actors should bring sheet music and a prepared song if auditioning for musical roles. An accompanist will be provided.

HART is a semi-professional community theater and volunteer actors are considered for all roles. Auditions are at the HART Theater, 250 Pigeon St. Waynesville, NC 28786, Sunday and Monday, February 2 & 3 2014.
