Haywood Road Fall 2014 Clean Up Day is Sept. 20

Press release from West Asheville Business Association:

Haywood Road Fall 2014 Clean Up Day
Saturday September 20, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

WABA (West Asheville Business Association) is once again teaming up with Asheville GreenWorks and Haywood Road businesses to host a clean up day. The Haywood Road Fall Clean Up Day will be this Saturday, September 20, 2014. Community volunteers are needed!

Volunteers should meet at the Westville Pub, 777 Haywood Road, West Asheville, for a complimentary breakfast at 10:00 AM. Once fueled and energized, volunteers will head west along Haywood Road to pick up trash and beautify public spaces.

Preregister on the WABA website at: http://west-asheville.com/fall-clean-up-day-september-20-2014/ so we make sure to have enough breakfast for all.

Asheville Greenworks will supply safety vests, gloves, trash/recycling bags and basic tools. Community members are encouraged to bring a pair of work gloves, small brooms/dustpans and shovels.

This Fall 2014 Clean Up Day is part of a series of clean up and beautification days being planned in West Asheville and dovetails with the cleaning and maintenance work being done by the City of Asheville along Haywood Road.

City crews will street sweep Haywood Road early Friday morning, September 19, between 3:00-6:00 AM. The community is asked to refrain from parking overnight along Haywood Road Thursday, so crews can have better access to curbs along the road Friday morning.
