Hendersonville respite house for children with cancer celebrates one year anniversary

From the press release:

Baltimore, Md. (February 15, 2012) – It has been an extraordinary first year for the Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls. From every branch of the U.S. Armed Services and from across the United States, military families who have children battling life threatening illnesses have found peace and comfort in the mountains of Western North Carolina. A project of the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, the Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls is a testament to the volunteer spirit of the Hendersonville community. Many businesses and individuals throughout the region contributed their time and resources to build this magnificent mountain top retreat.

The Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls is one of only five pediatric respite facilities for critically ill children in the entire country, and only the second facility to prioritize military pediatrics. Situated in a gated community, this 3,300 square foot mountain home offers families the opportunity to renew their physical and emotional energies throughout their child’s hospital and medical treatments. Families can enjoy hiking trails, trout steams, beautiful mountain views and the serenity of the Western North Carolina Mountains during their stay.

The Believe In Tomorrow Military Initiative acts as a support system that provides families the time to be together, relax, and reconnect. With the help of community supporters such as TCBY, Hubba Hubba Smokehouse, Huck Finn Rafting Center, Hotdog World, and Zero Gravity Skate Park military families staying at the Believe In Tomorrow house at Pinnacle Falls can achieve a sense of normalcy in a difficult time.

The Believe In Tomorrow National Children’s Foundation is celebrating 30 years as a national leader in pediatric respite and hospital housing services. Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, Believe In Tomorrow has provided over 600,000 individual overnight accommodations for critically ill children and their families, from every state in the U.S. and 76 countries worldwide. As the pioneer of pediatric respite housing and a leader in pediatric hospital housing services, Believe In Tomorrow’s programs work hand in hand as a support system for these families when they need it most.
