John Cowan, John McFee and friends at The Grey Eagle, Sept. 27

From a press release:

John Cowan, John McFee and friends at The Grey Eagle, Sept. 27

In celebration of the long-awaited new John Cowan album Sixty out on Compass Records, Jown Cowan along with fellow Doobie Brother and album producer John McFee are bringing an exciting and once in a lifetime lineup dubbed John Cowan, John McFee and Friends to Asheville on Saturday, September 27th at The Grey Eagle.

Sixty has been climbing the Americana music charts.  The album includes guests Leon Russell, Alison Krauss, Rodney Crowell, Bonnie Bramlett, Jim Messina, Huey Lewis, Ray Benson, John Jorgenson, Chris Hillman, Andrea Zonn, Sam Bush and others and is a cross-genre musical celebration of his 35+ year career.

John Cowan, also known as the Voice of Newgrass, has been singing his heart out for thirty-five years, and his soaring vocals have only improved with time. A true innovator, John applies his powerful pipes to genres from country, bluegrass, and gospel to soul, jazz, and rock-and-roll – often within the space of a single concert. His ability to move fluidly through multiple styles, and carry mesmerized audiences on the journey with him, has set him apart as one of the most loved and admired vocal artists of his generation, not just by fans and critics but among fellow musicians as well.

The show (seated) is Saturday, Sept. 27. 8 p.m. $25 advance / $28 day of show / $50 VIP
