Just Us For All will hold LGBTQ Thanksgiving event Nov. 28

Gobble Til’ You Wobble : A Thanksgiving for LGBTQ Chosen Family
Asheville, NC, November 28, 2013

The Asheville, NC, activist group, Just Us for All, has organized an event to give people in the community a place to eat on Thanksgiving.

This holiday JUFA will bring together folks in the LGBTQ spectrum who do not have contact with their family of origin due to LGBTQ status, are homeless, or are displaced LGBTQ youth. All people in the Asheville community are welcome to attend if they need a place to eat on Thanksgiving. The space is a safe space for LGBTQ youth and adults. This event is open to the entire LGBTIQA+ ally community, so anybody that respects safe spaces is more than welcome to come!

Harry Potter paraphernalia and costumes will be present, but you are more than welcome to come in your muggled body form. Why Harry Potter? Hogwarts represents a home away from home for the characters in Harry Potter. It symbolizes chosen family to many. The day will be filled with games, Harry Potter movies, laughter and food.
JUFA is holding food drives On Sunday, November 17 and November 24, 2013 from 11am- 7pm.
Many local businesses such as Mela Indian Restaurant, Over Easy Café, and Tupelo Honey are donating food to the event. Just Us For All members will prepare the rest of the food. If you are able to bring a dish to share potluck style please bring one.

The event will take place at First Congregational United Church of Christ: 20 Oak Street, Asheville, North Carolina 28801
