Keever receives Alliance for Retired Americans endorsement

Here’s the press release from the campaign of Democrat Patsy Keever, who’s challenging Republican incumbent Rep. Patrick McHenry in this year’s race for the 10th Congressional District.

Asheville, NC— The Keever Campaign released the following statement today regarding Representative Keever’s endorsement by the Alliance for Retried Americans.

“I am very proud to have the endorsement of the ARA,” said Representative Keever. “At a time when my opponent has leveled totally false accusations at me regarding my position on Medicare, it is heartwarming to have the support of an organization that endorses my actual stand on our social safety net.”

Barbara Easterling, President of the ARA said that “[Patsy’s] positions demonstrate a strong commitment to improve the quality of life for older Americans. Her leadership on issues such as preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare from privatization and benefit cuts exhibits that commitment.” Ms. Easterling concluded her endorsement by saying that Representative Keever’s election to the House of Representatives will “enhance the quality of life for older Americans.”

The Alliance for Retired Americans represents more than four million retirees, older Americans, and community leaders including more than 63,227 members in North Carolina.

Rep. Patsy Keever (NC-115) is the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District. Keever taught in the public schools for more than 25 years and served on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners for 12 years. In 2010, Keever was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives from NC District 115.
