LAB looks for new head brewer, has plenty of beer in the meantime

The founding brewer of the Lexington Avenue Brewery resigned today, the Citizen-Times reports. The brewer, Ben Pierson has been at the LAB since it opened, a left due to contract dispute, the AC-T says. Here’s more:

“Pierson, who previously worked at Asheville’s Green Man Brewing Co., said he will ‘immediately’ begin looking for another job. He lives in Greenville, S.C. and has been commuting to Asheville. ‘In the meantime, I am doing landscaping,’ he said.

LAB co-owner Mike Healy said he was surprised at Pierson’s resignation and had offered him a contract, which the brewer rejected. ‘We know he will continue to make great beer, as will the LAB,’ Healy said.”

Most importantly, the article reports that the LAB is well-stocked with beer. The LAB is currently looking for another head brewer.
