Lizz Winstead appears at The Grey Eagle on Oct. 12

Comedian and co-creator of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” Lizz Winstead returns to Asheville (she packed The Grey Eagle in 2012) on tour with her new show, “Bang The Dumb Slowly.” It’s a “hilarious take on politics and the media,” according to press.

From a press release:

Who better to do a hilarious takedown of the current state of these here United States! Winstead takes on hypocrisy with a brilliant razor sharp wit, hitting all the big issues and big targets. From Ted “Carnival” Cruz to unpopular threats of Cruised missiles, and of course birth control and Obama, nothing and no one is exempt from a comedic jab. And ahem, North Carolina, Lizz could do a whole show just based on cookie monster Pat McCrory and motorcycle vaginas. She has A LOT to say about both…

Let’s face it- Moral Mondays are needed 24/7 in all 50 states. We all need a break from the madness and the way Lizz Winstead rips her comedy straight from the headlines, it’s just the catharsis we need.

Lizz’s talents as a comedian and media visionary have been recognized by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly’s 100 most Creative People issue and has brought numerous television appearances, including Comedy Central Presents, HBO, CNN as well as her regular commentary on MSNBC. Winstead also provides satirical commentary to The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and The Huffington Post.

Winstead performs at The Grey Eagle on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. $15/$18.
