WNCW personality Joe Kendrick and Moonlight Mile Productions’ Tony Preston partnered up last year to undertake a video series documenting “the heart of Southern music and culture.” The pilot episode featured Aaron Burdett of Saluda, and the second episode documents the musical journey of local country roots outfit The Honeycutters as the band tours in support of recent album Me Oh My. Performance footage, interviews and behind-the-scenes clips will comprise the roughly 27-minute episode, available here.

“We had such an incredible time making the documentary,” Kendrick says. “The Honeycutters were all gracious and generous throughout the six weeks we worked together, and we wound up with a ton of worthy material. The hard part was cutting out sections of interviews, performances and behind-the-scenes portions of what we shot, because we fell in love with so much of what we saw!”

A crowdfunding campaign by Kendrick and Preston raised over $2,000 toward the project, which was filmed from late April to early June. The two are already planning the next episode.
