Local jewelers open combined studio, Dec. 5

Local art jewelers Jessica Hall of Bluebird Designs, and Stacie Florer of Stacie Florer Jewelry have combined metalsmith studios and will be celebrating their grand opening December 5 at Studio 256 during the Holiday Market at Riverview Station in the River Arts District from 4 to 8pm. Stacie Florer states, “I am new to Asheville, and met Jessica this fall. I helped her with a few of her outdoor shows and after working so well together, we decided to combine our workspace and work as studio partners. Our handcrafted art jewelry is distinct from each other’s, and we are pleased to offer our two styles of locally fabricated jewelry in the large gallery space at the front of our new studio.”

Jessica Hall’s jewelry inspires smiles with her whimsical bird, owl, elephant charms and more all turned into pendants, earrings and bracelets. All ages respond to her lighthearted, happy and vividly colorful jewelry. Jessica has been studying metalsmithing since 2000, with knowledge and experience in enamel, gemstone setting, design, repair and mixed metal work. Since moving to Asheville last February she has been exploring new enamel techniques and adding to her already expansive jewelry line.

Stacie Florer refers to herself as a “metaphysical metalsmith”. She fabricates comfortable and ruggedly feminine jewelry with spirit for people that want their jewelry to inspire conversations about their own meaningful experiences. Stacie will be teaching jewelry fabrication locally and is a frequent contributor of written jewelry tutorials for nationally known jewelry magazines such as Belle Armoire Jewelry and is a 2015 featured artist for Step by Step Wire Jewelry.

Light refreshments will be offered during the grand opening reception and Holiday Market at Studio 256 at 191 Lyman, Riverview Station in the River Arts District on Friday, December 5th from 4-8pm.
