Local instructors invite community to attend mindfulness retreat for ADHD

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – ADHD is the most common behavioral disorder diagnosed in children. But it’s not just a diagnosis that is given to children anymore. It is estimated that 85% of adults go untreated and misdiagnosed. One can experience symptoms such as depression, lack of sleep, inattentiveness, inability to focus and learning disabilities just to name a few.
Local instructors ban together for ADHD. Positive effects are seen on ADHD sufferers who use alternative therapies such as Yoga, Mindfulness and Tai Chi as part of their daily routine. There are many current studies on the positive effects that mindfulness strategies have on people with ADHD.

EVENT SCHEDULE:
Mind-Body ADHD ½ Day Retreat
Please join the ADHD Center for Success , CoachRudy Rodriguez, Bruce Stewart and Eric Larsen for this half day event and learn some ways to manage ADHD. The Mind-Body ADHD ½ day Retreat is designed to teach some core Mind-Body centered principles and practices. Using such Mind-Body practices as Tai Chi, Yoga/movement and Mindfulness the participant will begin to slow down their body and mind so they come into a more gentle, peaceful and centered way of BE-ing. With ongoing practice, the participant will notice benefits of increased quality focus and attention, decreased distractibility, reduced stress, and an overall sense of ease, joy and centeredness.

Asheville Adult ADHD Meet-up Group
Meet other local adults dealing with ADD or ADHD. Gather to share experiences, progress, and thoughts with one another. Discuss the latest information, research, books, programs, treatments. Share the best methods of adaptation, working around weaknesses, relying on strengths. Registration required.
When: Monday, June 17, 2013, 7 – 8:30pm (3RD Monday of every month)
