Master Gardeners and Rose Society to host plant sale Oct. 4

Press Release

Buncombe County Master Gardeners

For the 4th consecutive year, the Buncombe County Extension Master Gardener volunteers (EMGs) will hold their popular fall plant sale. The Blue Ridge Rose Society will also participate in the sale. The date is Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine. The NEW location for the sale is Mike Byer Auto and Truck Repair, 135 Coxe Avenue, across the street and a block south of the county extension offices. Plenty of free street parking is available.

Come early for the best selection! “Fall is the best time to plant trees, shrubs, bulbs, roses and perennials,” said Nancy Humphries, Master Gardener and a Plant Sale Coordinator. “We will have a variety of plants available for sale from the gardens of our Extension Master Gardener volunteers and Blue Ridge Rose Society members.”

There will also be gardening gloves, gently used garden related items and books for sale. Master Gardeners and Rose Society members will be on hand to answer garden questions and provide educational material to the public. Proceeds from the sale will be used to sustain the ongoing activities of both organizations.
