McCrory appoints Biltmore Forest VP to WNC Public Lands Council

From the office of Gov. Pat McCrory:

Raleigh, NC – The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

Western North Carolina Public Lands Council

Lee Thomason (Buncombe County) – Thomason is the vice president of residential and commercial development at the Biltmore Farms, LLC. He received a B.S. in design from Clemson University and a master’s in building construction from Auburn University.

Mitchell Powell (Haywood County) – Powell is the co-owner/operator of Powell Industries. He received a master’s degree in technology from Western Carolina University.

Linda Hogue (Swain County) – Hogue retired from the Swain County Public School System after teaching for 32 years. She received a degree in elementary education at Mars Hill College.

The council oversees North Carolina parks, parkways and forests and promotes the protection, preservation and sustainability of Western North Carolina’s natural and economic resources. The term length is four years.
