Montford Park Players fundraiser and variety show scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 26

Asheville’s Montford Park Players have big plans for 2013: An expansion of the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre. The improvements include a paved and lighted path, new terraces and steps. Read more about the expansion here: http://www.montfordparkplayers.org/amphitheatre-expansion

Here’s one way to help those dreams come true: Montford Park Players holds a fundraiser and variety show on Saturday, Jan. 26. “Get ready for one crazy night when the Montford Park Players throw a party,” says a press release. “See the best scenes from every play of their 2012 season, plus The Gravedigger’s Comic Stand-Up, Falstaff’s Dance Party, Epic Shakespearean Rap Battles, a Codpiece Fashion Show, and much more! The Players are also auctioning off everything from the opportunity to be killed onstage to birthday fire shows to help support their upcoming building campaign. One night only.”

Tickets ($25) will be available at the door, by calling (828) 254-5146, or at montfordparkplayers.org. The event takes place at Club Metropolis (below Club Hairspray), 38 North French Broad Ave. 7:30 p.m.
