Moscow Ballet holds Asheville auditions on September 29

Student dancers ages 7-16 are invited to open auditions on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. Sixty dancers will be selected to perform as party children, mice, snowflakes, angels, and other roles in the “Great Russian Nutcracker,” performed on Dec. 11 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. Auditions take place at Center Stage Dance Studio, 38-L Rosscraggon Road, Asheville. Audition Director Ekaterina Uksusnikova will be present to make selections.

From a press release:

Applicants must have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes. The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. Former Somerville NJ Gotta Dance student Hillary-Marie Michael, now director of Jersey Tap Fest, says, “From start to finish … it is an excellent way for dancers to understand both the discipline and fun involved in a professional ballet production.” Register at www.nutcracker.com/dance-with-us/auditions or contact Center Stage Dance 828-654-7010.
