Mumpower and Nesbitt launch pro-HB2 website NCTruth.com

Local political figures Dr. Carl Mumpower and Chad Nesbitt announced the launch of a website dedicated to opposing efforts to overturn North Carolina House Bill 2.

The HB2 legislation prohibits municipal governments from passing ordinances that would allow individuals to use the bathroom of their choice (without regard to the sex listed on their birth certificate), as well as restricting local governments from passing ordinances that would require government contractors or businesses to pay a minimum wage higher than the federal minimum wage. The law also says that discrimination lawsuits may be brought only in federal, not North Carolina, courts.

Press release:

In view of the unprecedented assault on the rule of law in North Carolina by a rainbow of businesses, politicians, and special interest groups, we thought a little pushback might be appropriate. And so we’ve created a website…

NCTruth.com

Our mission is simple. We want to—

·        Reveal HB2 antagonists seeking to substitute rule of law with rule by intimidation.
·        Challenge their mission of frightening and undermining our elected officials.
·        Take the hood off the LBGT movement’s sincere agenda – power and control.
·        Question why we have a solution seeking a problem.
·        Create some pause for the companies attempting to bully NC.
