Nancy Waldrop endorsed by Sheriff Van Duncan

Press release from the campaign of Nancy Waldrop:

CANDLER, N.C. – October 14, 2014 – Nancy Waldrop, candidate for County Commissioner in District 3, today announced she has been endorsed by Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan. Waldrop is running as an unaffiliated candidate after obtaining 3,334 validated signatures on a petition to get her name on the ballot in the November 4 election. Duncan, a Democrat, is running for a third term as Buncombe County Sheriff.

“I’m honored to have the approval of Sheriff Duncan,” Waldrop said. “He’s focused on serving the people of Buncombe County and he’s willing to work with anyone he needs to work with to find common goals and to accomplish them.”

Waldrop adds the endorsement of Sheriff Duncan to a list that includes County Commission Chairman David Gantt, Buncombe County Schools Chairman Bob Rhinehart, the Buncombe County Association of Educators and the Sierra Club, Western North Carolina Group.

Waldrop taught for 29 years in Buncombe County Schools and served as a member of the planning committee that helped establish the Martin L. Nesbitt Jr. Discovery Academy, a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school. She lives in Candler with her husband, current Buncombe County Commissioner David King, and their five rescued pets including a cat and four dogs.
