National Weather service issues fire danger warning for Asheville area until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a fire danger warning for the Asheville area until 6 p.m. due to low humidity throughout the region. From the NWS:

Minimum relative humidity values will remain below 25 percent
across much of the North Carolina mountains and foothills this
afternoon. Lower elevations will see the lowest relative humidity
values. fuels remain very dry and even though the winds will be
light…fire danger will be elevated through the afternoon hours.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn this afternoon. if you do burn…use extreme caution
since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
