Organic choose-and-cut tree farm hosts festive event on Dec. 7

Press Release

From Western North Carolina Alliance:

ASHEVILLE – Want to have a really “green” Christmas?

Then come out with the Western North Carolina Alliance as we host an outing to What Fir! Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farm at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Farm owner Nathaniel Maram will lead a tour and share the history of the farm’s transition to natural growing practices.

What Fir! offers the option to buy a Christmas tree grown without the use of synthesized chemicals. The farm has not used any pesticides or herbicides for several years and its abundance of Fraser Firs on the tree farm are evidence of the success of organic farming practices.

The farm is located just outside Boone. Our trip will allow you to choose your own tree, take a hayride, hike, shop for wreaths and other Christmas decorations, and enjoy some warm cider.

For Asheville-area folks who want to ride share, we’ll carpool from Earth Fare at the Westgate Shopping Center to Curtis Creek at 9 a.m.
