From Oskar Blues Brewery:

KICK OFF 2017 WITH OSKAR BLUES BREWERY AT THE 5TH ANNUAL NYE HOOTENANNY
SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS, JONNY FRITZ, PRETTY LITTLE GOAT TO PERFORM

BREVARD, N.C. — Keeping alive their half-a-decade long tradition of hooking you up with the most bodacious New Year’s Eve throwdown this side of Clingman’s Dome, Oskar Blues will crack open 2017 with their 5th annual New Year’s Eve Hootenanny. The craft beer in a CAN innovators transform their craft beer production facility into a massive, raucous music venue for one night only, and following a year of renovations, this year’s space will be better than ever. The evening will boast incred tunes, fresh craft beer, killer food from the Oskar Blues CHUBwagons, free shuttles to Brevard hotels and more. Tickets and information available at www.obnye.com.

This year’s Hootenanny is headlined by notorious rock and rollers, Southern Culture on the Skids. Formed in Chapel Hill in the early 1980’s, the group quickly gained a reputation for their wild live performances and outlandish stage behavior. Called a “merry spectacle” by LA Weekly, the trio’s genre-shattering sound calls forth influences from rockabilly to surf rock while paying homage to a myriad of garage-rock and country inspirations. Also taking Brevard by storm is Los Angeles-based Americana weirdo, Jonny Fritz (née Corndawg). Praised by American Songwriter as a “first rate satirist,” Fritz is notorious for crafting songs with a flawless “mix of pathos, humor and sadness.” After more than a decade of touring and a penchant for playing with the best of the best session musicians Nashville has to offer, Rolling Stone described Fritz as “a modern-day Roger Miller,” and the artist has gained a good amount of celebrity within the industry.

Local bluegrass gang, Pretty Little Goat, return to the brewery to kick-off the revelry. The group delivers an energetic performance that celebrates the traditional old-time music of Appalachia while welcoming in new fans with foot-stomping rhythms.

Tickets for the 5th Annual Oskar Blues Brewery New Year’s Eve Hootenanny can be purchased online at www.obnye.com. Advanced tickets are $30 for the month of November, $35 in December, and $45 at the door. An exclusive “locals-only” ticket will be available for a limited time from the Tasty Weasel taproom at the brewery for a reduced price of $25. Local hotels offer special discount pricing for guests attending the Hootenanny and the Oskar Blues trolley will be shuttling hotel guests to and from the brewery safely all night. Party on.

Oskar Blues Brewery threw the first New Years Eve Hootenanny in 2012 as the grand opening of the Brevard, NC brewing facility and taproom. Previous lineups have featured the Hackensaw Boys, Larry Keel, The Black Lillies, Town Mountain, Packway Handle Band, and Jupiter Coyote. Tickets to the throwdown are a coveted item — the Hootenanny has sold out every single year. Don’t wait to git yer tickets
