Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment
Friday, October 11
12 – 1 p.m.
Duke Room at Park Ridge Health
Presented by Shonda M. Asaad, M.D.
The community is invited to learn about advances in the treatment of breast cancer at this free Lunch & Learn. Dr. Shonda Asaad received her Doctorate of Medicine from West Virginia School of Medicine and completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology from Penn State, Milton S. Hershey Medical School. She has lived in the Asheville area since 2010 with her husband and two sons. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the Southern Medical Association (SMA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Asaad has published articles on colon cancer and hemophilia. In her spare time, she volunteers with Four Seasons Hospice where she and her dog enjoy pet therapy visits with patients. She also works with Casting for Recovery to give breast cancer survivors a chance to learn fly fishing. Dr. Asaad’s goal is to bring more palliative care to the beginning of treatment instead of the end. Come at 11:30 if you’d like a complimentary lunch from the Park Ridge Café. To RSVP for this event, please call 855.PRH.LIFE (855.774.5433).
