Smoking Cessation Series
Jan. 15 – Feb. 26 (extra day on Feb. 7 during Quit Week)

The Health Adventure
800 Brevard Rd., Asheville
This smoking cessation series is designed by the American Lung Association (ALA) and administered by Park Ridge Health Wellness certified instructors. Freedom from Smoking is considered the gold standard for smoking cessation. This is a seven-week program with a total of eight sessions. Each session lasts approximately 1½ hours, and every participant receives an ALA workbook.

Lifestyle Approaches to Diabetes
Thursday, Jan. 17

The Health Adventure (Biltmore Square Mall)
Fellowship-trained endocrinologist Aysha Inankur, M.D., will present a free educational seminar about diabetes management on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Health Adventure. The presentation and meet-and-greet is specially designed for those who would like to know more about managing diabetes through planning and daily lifestyle changes. Henderson County Stroke/Aphasia Support Group

This is not your typical childbirth class! This class is offered in an interactive format to help you learn and retain all the correct and most important information. Topics covered in the course include the following: Dealing with pregnancy ailments, labor process techniques, labor support techniques, breastfeeding and newborn care. This class is $65.00 per couple. Add a massage voucher ($65 value) to use at The Baby Place Spa for just $30! Bring three pillows and a baby doll or stuffed animal to class.

Sleep Solutions
Tuesday, Jan. 15
6 – 7 p.m.
The Health Adventure

This in-depth workshop by Sleep Expert Meggan Hartman will help parents understand how to establish good sleep habits and a healthy schedule for their babies and themselves. Topics covered in the course include the following:
· Baby sleep needs from 0-12 months
· Helping little ones establish good sleep habits/patterns
· Developmental milestones that impact infant sleep development and how to approach them
· SIDS guidelines and research
· No- and low-cry sleep methods
· Sleep arrangements such as: co-sleeping, room sharing and crib sleeping
· Night feeds and sleep changes
· Naps

***Wellness on Wheels will follow the Henderson County Public Schools inclement weather policy. If Henderson County Public Schools are closed or on a delay, the WOW screening will be cancelled for that day.
