Park Ridge Health Announces Flu Prevention Plan
Hendersonville, N.C. (September 28, 2012) – Park Ridge Health announced its Influenza Prevention Plan for the 2012 – 2013 flu season to team members this week.

All employees of Park Ridge Health will be required to do one of the following:
1. Obtain an influenza vaccination.
2. Sign a declination form, and wear a surgical mask when within six feet of a patient, visitor or other Park Ridge Health associate throughout the 2012 – 2013 flu season.
3. Obtain exemption from vaccination based on medical contraindication or religious objection.

“These new prevention measures will help ensure the safety of our patients, our team members and the surrounding community as we face this year’s flu season,” said Craig Lindsey, R.N., M.B.A., M.H.A., C.E.N.P., Vice President of Clinical Services at Park Ridge Health.

Influenza vaccines will be available to all Park Ridge Health team members, medical staff and volunteers free of charge.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that while every flu season is different, the more people who are vaccinated against the flu, the less widespread the disease will be. They now recommend that everyone at least six months of age obtain a flu vaccine.
