Asheville, NC – The Afterschool Program offered by Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts offers licensed, quality child care for families, and provides supervised recreation and enrichment activities for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program operates on regular school days (2:30-6 p.m.), teacher workdays and school holidays. The After School Program is located at Vance Elementary School. Activities include arts and crafts, group games, homework time and special events.

The Afterschool Program also provides nutritious snacks daily through participation in the US. Department of Agriculture funded Child and Adult Food Care Program. Meals will be available at no separate charge to enrolled participants. Children who are TANF recipients or who are members of SNAP or FDPIR households or are Head Start participants, are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.
