Regional school choirs perform at the Asheville Airport

For those traveling through Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) during the holidays, 10 regional school choral groups will be spreading cheer during the “Sounds of the Holidays” singing program. Each year choirs are invited to perform holiday music in the airport for the enjoyment of travelers, visitors and employees alike. “This is one of those feel-good events where we can invite the community into the airport and celebrate the season,” said Tina Kinsey, director of marketing and public relations. “Traveling during the holidays should not be stressful and when our visitors hear these local chorus groups we hope they relax and enjoy their time in the Airport even more.” The following is a schedule of choral performances:

• Monday, Dec. 16, 10:15 a.m. Brevard High School
• Tuesday, Dec. 17, 10:15 a.m. Claxton Elementary School
11:30 a.m. Cullowhee Valley School
• Wednesday, Dec. 18, 10:15 a.m. Rosman High School
11 a.m. Clyde A. Erwin High School
• Thursday, Dec. 19, 2:00 p.m. Enka Middle School
