Support Asheville’s medically underserved with alternative medicine. Roast acupuncture pioneer Cissy Majebe and bid on 40 silent auction items at Highland Brewing Company, 12 Old Charlotte Highway, on Tuesday, April 17th, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Suggested donation for this event is $20/person and includes Latin dancing with Picante & Reuben Orengo, live rock and roll with Jimmy Baker & the Profits, light appetizers, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and a silent auction. Donated silent auction items include gift certificates from Plant and Vinnie’s, items from Jewels that Dance and Malaprop’s, massages, bodywork sessions, theatre tickets, handwoven items, art from Sonia Merlin, Rubby Ducky Glass, Haw Creek Forge and much more. All proceeds will benefit the Traditions Acupuncture Foundation which funds Chinese medical care for the underserved populations in our area.
