Root Cause seeks new members for local wood products directory

Western North Carolina’s local wood products directory Root Cause aims to grow its 2015 online listings.

“From forest-product businesses and artisans crafting home and commercial furnishings from locally sourced wood, to sustainable forestry organizations and landowner resources, Root Cause connects consumers and landowners with Western North Carolina’s legacy of sustainable forestry and local wood crafts,” reads a media release from the organization.

Founder Lang Hornthal aims to triple the number of listings for forest products by mid-2015, around the same time that a searchable database of participants will launch online. Subcategories include forest management and consultants, conservation, loggers, sawmills, lumber, woodworking, furniture, craft, architects and builders, forest foods, incentive programs, and resources and retail.
