Santé hosts “GrapeStomp” for Girls on the Run

From the press release:

(Asheville, NC) Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room in Asheville is pleased to host the second annual “GrapeStomp” event to benefit Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 28th at Santé and will begin at 6pm.

Girls on the Run of WNC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Currently, they offer programs in all fourteen counties of Western North Carolina.

The evening will begin with a “flash mob” style yoga warm up by Santé owner and yoga teacher Carla Baden, followed by a one or three mile run/walk around downtown led by Girls on the Run staff and volunteers. After the run, participants will gather back at Santé for a wine tasting featuring a variety of wines poured from Santé’s environmentally friendly and state-of-the-art keg system. Anne Kaufmann of The Vintner Group, supplier of many of Santé’s wines on tap, will be on hand to pour from the kegs and to answer questions about the wines. The cost of the evening is $10, and all proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run’s “SoleMates,” a program that works to ensure that all girls across Western North Carolina, regardless of income, have the opportunity to participate in their programs.

“It’s so great to be hosting a second GrapeStomp evening for the SoleMates program at Girls on the Run. Last year’s event brought in both donations and potential new members, and this year, we look forward to increasing both. We love supporting the cause of getting girls interested in physical fitness.”

Earlier this year, Santé became the first wine bar in North Carolina to feature twelve taps solely dedicated to wine. Wine on tap has many benefits – from less waste and a reduced carbon footprint, to the last glass being as fresh as the first – and has been extremely popular with Santé’s customers. Santé also offers four local beers on tap as well as light fare to compliment the wine. Selections include several local and imported cheeses, salads, and handmade pizzas, as well as an assortment of house-made dips. Additionally, Santé still offers a myriad of choices of wine by the bottle, and has no plans to change that anytime time soon.

Santé is located in downtown Asheville at One Page Avenue in the Grove Arcade. Santé opens at 4:00pm daily and is also available to book for private parties. No reservations are needed, although large parties are advised to call ahead. For more info, call (828) 254-8188 or visit www.santewinebar.com.
