Sixth annual Asheville Bookfest, Dec. 6

From a press release:

Sixth annual Asheville Bookfest, Dec. 6

It is said that everyone has a remarkable story to tell, and some actually get them into print. Such is the case with almost two dozen area authors and several local publishing companies as they gather to share stories and publishing insights on December 6th at the Haywood Park Hotel Atrium, 46 Haywood Street in Asheville, from 10:00am – 6:00pm.

The Asheville Bookfest, now in its sixth year, has been a collaborative process between western North Carolina authors and local publishers since its inception. Author readings, workshops and publishing presentations will be offered. Books covering a wide variety of topics will be for sale, and their authors available to personally sign them.

Organizer Micki Cabaniss, owner of the Grateful Steps Bookshop and Director of the Grateful Steps Foundation, says “this is the biggest event we’ve planned yet, and we are very excited to be bringing all of these authors to the heart of downtown Asheville.”

Participating Publishers include: Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, Pisgah Press, Yav Publications, Grateful Steps, and Magic Mountain Press.

Visiting Authors include: Chris Yavelow, Amy Ammons, Karon Korp, Ryan Jaskot, Thomas Rain Crowe, Bahia Abrams, Tena Frank, Michael Havelin, Larry Morgan, Mike & Sandi Krecioch, Evan Williams, Tracey Schmidt, Barbie Angell, Jo Wicker, Deborah Schlag, Charles Pickens, Steve Jones, Georganne Spruce, Olson Huff, and Jenny Fulford

The event is free and open to the public.
