STF Precision to invest $4.5 million into Arden facility, hire 25 new workers

Asheville, N.C., May 23, 2013 – In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), STF Precision, a leading manufacturer in diamond-tipped cutting tools, today announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Arden, N.C. with a $4.5 million investment in facilities and equipment. STF’s investment will bring 25 new positions in engineering, production and operations to the county. The company currently employs 52, at wages above the Buncombe County average.

Locally owned and operated since 1992, STF produces a variety of cutting tools used in automotive, aerospace, medical, and high tech applications, including components in the manufacture of the Apple iPhone. Engineering excellence and manufacturing efficiency continue to be the catalyst for the company’s growth. STF engineers and produces custom tools more quickly than its competitors while simultaneously creating a sense of partnership and trust with valued customers in over eight countries.
