Stories on Asheville’s Front Porch returns July 11

Storytelling series Stories on Asheville’s Front Porch returns to Diana Wortham Theatre for a sixth season. The first show takes place on Saturday, July 11.

The sixth season of Stories on Asheville’s Front Porch at the Diana Wortham Theater is fast approaching. Here is the schedule.

This years theme, “Every Voice A Story!”

Saturday July 11th: 10am-Noon: Boston Story Slam Winner, Regi Carpenter along with author Saundra Kelley and Debbie Gurriere

Saturday July 18th: 10am-Noon: Old Time Storyteller/Musician, John Thomas Fowler along with Marci Nimick and Wallace Shealy.

Saturday July 25th: 10am-Noon: World Bank Storyteller and the first American ever invited to tell stories in Iran, Kristin Pedemonti along with radio host from Women on Air, Susan Lachmann and Todd Lester, producer of Synergy Story Slam here in Asheville.

Saturday August 1st: 10am-Noon: Asheville Councilman, Cecil Bothwell, Citizen Times journalist, Mike Cronin, business owners Jada Nye and Pat Farris, comedian Randy Robins, restauranteur Lynn Foster and founder of the Asheville Storytelling Circle Sandra Gudger.

Saturday August 8th: 10am-Noon: Staff and Volunteers of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Brother Wolf stories of rescues and adoptions told by staff, volunteers and pet parents.

Our event takes place each and every Saturday morning from the kick off on July 11th through August 8th. Doors open at 10am, show begins at 10:15am and is over by Noon. Location: Diana Wortham Theater’s Rhino Courtyard (inside in the Forum if it rains.) This is a FREE event thanks to your many generous sponsors.
