Asheville, NC — Story Medicine Asheville, a community-based intervention program blending writing and deep indigenous healing techniques, is proud to announce two important events for Spring 2014.
Our Members’ Showcase will be presented Friday, April 4, 2014 at Jubilee Community Church, 46 Wall Street, Asheville, NC 28801 at 7:00 p.m. This offering of unforgettable, sacred reading selections of past and present program participants. After the readings, our audience will be invited to dialogue with the writers to better understand their word medicine process.
Blue to Gold will be presented Friday, May 2, 2014 at Jubilee Community church, 46 Wall Street, Asheville, NC 28801 at 7:00 p.m. This fundraising event will focus on the work of Story Medicine Asheville’s founding director, Meta Commerse. Ms. Commerse will share part of her story, offer musical selections, and read excerpts from “The Mending Time,” her upcoming novel. This work offers an intimate view of her testimony of what story medicine can do.
