Taste of Compassion Gala benefits Asheville Humane Society

Put your best paw forward by joining fellow animal lovers at Asheville Humane Society’s 13th Annual Taste of Compassion Gala at the Morris Hellenic Cultural Center in Historic Montford on Saturday, November 5 from 6 – 9 PM with a V.I.P reception starting at 5 PM. Thanks to Asheville Humane Society’s generous sponsors, all expenses are covered so 100% of the money raised will benefit local animals in need. This year’s Presenting Sponsor is Animal Hospital of North Asheville and other top level sponsors include Prestige Subaru, Spicer Greene Jewelers, Sensibilities Day Spa, Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery, iHeartMedia, Charlotte Street Animal Hospital, Capella on 9, R.E.A.C.H./Asheville Veterinary Specialists, Patton Avenue Pet Company and WLOS News 13/WMYA.

Local businesses, artists and individuals have graciously donated a wide range of itemsincluding unique art, travel packages and several one-of-a-kind experiences you can’t get anywhere else. Two coveted auction items include a Tuscan vacation and the 2017 Outback from Prestige Subaru ($27,250 MSRP, 2.5L, H-4 Cyl, all-wheel drive). Prestige is donating 100% of the winning bid for the Outback to Asheville Humane Society!

All guests will be treated to wine courtesy of Mutual Distributing and locally crafted beer provided by Highland Brewing Company and Oskar Blues Brewery. Local restaurants and chefs are sponsoring the array of delicious vegetarian hors d’oeuvres and desserts to be enjoyed throughout the evening. Dancers from Asheville Community Theatre will entertain guests while Sparrow and her Wingmen and other local musicians take the stage to perform live.

For those who want the red carpet treatment, V.I.P. tickets are available for purchase and these guests will be invited to attend a pre-gala reception from 5-6pm. During the reception, V.I.P. guests will have the first opportunity to bid on our fabulous auction packages, taste exquisite cuisine and try our signature drink “The French Kiss.” The V.I.P. experience includes a private bar where endless champagne will be served exclusively to these guests for the entire evening.

“Taste of Compassion is Asheville Humane Society’s signature fundraising event and in our 13th year, we won’t disappoint,” said Carla Musgrove, Event Coordinator at Asheville Humane Society. “This year’s theme is ‘A Night at the Moulin Rouge’ and guests are guaranteed to enjoy a night of bidding on alluring auction items while savoring delicious vegetarian cuisine, fine wine and local beer. Our sponsors, guests and bidders help fund Asheville Humane Society’s lifesaving programs, giving every local animal the opportunity to live and thrive.”

This event is for human guests so be sure to leave your furry friends at home for the evening. Tickets will be available at the door for $90 and $140 for V.I.P., but if you purchase in advance, ticket prices are $75 and $125 for V.I.P.
