Tasty fundraiser for Meher Free Dispensary at Chai Pani and MG Road on Thursday, Dec. 20

Check out this fundraiser at Chai Pani and MG Road. It features great food for a great cause as well as live music and a silent auction (the items include a private dinner cooked by Chai Pani’s Daniel Peach). The event takes place on the evening of Thursday, Dec, 20. Proceeds benefit Meher Free Dispensary in the state of Maharashtra, India. Here are the details from the press release:

Fundraiser Features Silent Auction, Live Music and Donation of Total Dinner Proceeds at Chai Pani and MG Road

Chai Pani and MG Road will host a fundraiser to benefit Meher Free Dispensary on Thursday, Dec. 20th. The fundraiser will include a silent auction from 5 – 8 p.m. and live Hindi vocalist, Cinnamon’s Sounds, from 7-8 at MG Road, and Chai Pani will feature Maharashtrian dishes on the menu as well as Maharashtra-inspired drink specials. Additionally, MG Road and Chai Pani will donate 20% of dinner sales and 100% of sales on select beers and wines.

Meher Free Dispensary, founded in 1970 by Dr. Goher Irani, provides free medical care to poor and under-served patients of all ages in rural Maharashtra State, India. Medical services include treatment of acute and chronic illnesses as well as common illnesses and prenatal and postnatal care. Physician visits, lab tests and all medications are provided without charge.

Serving 25,000 patients per year and nearly 300 new patients per month, Meher Free Dispensary runs entirely on donations and volunteer services. Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from around the world volunteer their services, supplementing the permanent staff.

“Meher Free Dispensary is located in my home state of Maharashtra,” said Meherwan Irani, owner and executive chef of Chai Pani and MG Road. “This organization is very close to my heart and it’s an honor to support the work they do.”

Meher Fund, Inc. is a non-profit charitable [501(c) (3)] organization dedicated to supporting Meher Free Dispensary. All donations to Meher Fund go directly to support the Dispensary and are 100% tax deductible in the United States.
