TC Arts holds a Writing from the Heart class

PRESS RELEASE:

The Transylvania Community Arts Council is pleased to present a class entitled Writing from the Heart offered by WNC author Bobbie Pell. This class will be offered on Tuesday’s, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 10 am till 12 noon at the TC Arts Council. Cost for this course is $175.

About the class: What does it mean to “write from the heart” in today’s world? By examining personal definitions of this phrase, each writer will learn to deepen characterization, to interweave emotional threads into exhilarating plot lines, and to examine imagery to relay mood. Short exercises, storytelling works by national tellers, and journaling methods expand student’s writing horizons. In-class writings will create drafts ready for fictional scenes, non-fiction articles, poems, or simply personal use.

The instructor for the class is Bobbie Pell. For over 30 years, Bobbie Pell has shared her love of story with audiences of all ages through written works, storytelling performances, and workshops. Bobbie’s educational background includes a B.S. in Outdoor Environmental Education followed by three Master’s degrees: Library Science, English Literature/Composition, and Creative Writing [MFA-terminal]. Bobbie has written two books: A New Star (healing memoir) and The Highland Heart: Songweavers’ Chronicles Book One (historical fantasy). Performance CDs include Mysterious Heart and Celtic Wishes. She is currently publishing a collection of faerie tales/narrative poetry in Just One Wish. Bobbie continues teaching creative writing, ballads, and folklore workshops for John C.
