 From press release:

The 3rd Annual Wells Fargo Zipping for Autism, hosted by Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventures and Treetops Adventure Park, raised more than $45,000 on Sunday, June 1, to support the Autism Society of North Carolina’s efforts in western North Carolina.

Sheena and Jeff Greiner, managing partners of The Adventure Center of Asheville, created Zipping for Autism to make a difference for local children and families. Zipping for Autism was born in western NC, and all of the proceeds remain in the region. “Zipping for Autism has grown into a wonderful event that all of the team at Wildwater and The Adventure Center of Asheville are very proud of. The volunteers, sponsors, and teams have all really stepped up to make it a success. Over the course of three years, we have raised over $114,000, and we hope Zipping for Autism will become a tradition all involved will continue to develop and grow each year,” Jeff Greiner said.

The event gave 225 participants a chance to enjoy ziplining at Asheville Ziplines plus climb, zip, walk, jump, swing, and rappel over 30 towering trees and poles as they enjoyed the treetops adventure park. Higher fundraising teams received access to the new Kolo Bike Park course.

Teams and supporters enjoyed family-friendly tailgating with some of the sponsors, including Wild Wing Café, Star 104.3, The Hop Ice Cream Café, and Brevard College. Title sponsor Wells Fargo, which has entered teams since the first year of Zipping for Autism, contributed more than $8,000 in 2014. As of June 1, the top fundraising teams were team O’Reilly, the Greiners’ son, with more than $4,600 raised; and The NerdFighters, a team of students from Asheville Middle School, with more than $1,800.

The 2015 Wells Fargo Zipping for Autism is scheduled for Sunday, June 7th.  For more information about Zipping for Autism please contact Jeff Greiner at wjgreiner@aol.com.
